September is right around the corner and to celebrate we have gathered 30 things to do with children on the eastside of L.A., that’s right all family friendly and all drive-able if you live in NELA. Let’s get started:

Tuesday, September 3rd: Southern California Children’s Museum
Pasadena (Tickets required)
If you go on Tuesday after 2:00 pm you get two admissions for the price of one.

Wednesday, September 4th:  One Down Dog Yoga
Eagle Rock, 10:30-11:30 AM
Go get some yoga in. Children under 18 months are welcome to join their mamas in this class. 

Thursday, September 5th: Eagle Rock Plaza for Kids Club
Eagle Rock, 10:30-11:30 AM
This month it’s music and games with Snooknuck and the robot puppet show.

Fridays, September 6th: Bob Baker’s Marionette Theater, Highland Park
Highland Park, 10:30 AM
Catch a show at Bob Bakers new location in Highland park. They are currently doing a revival of the show that started it all.

Saturday, September 7th: The Huntington – Children’s Flower Arranging
San Marino, 1:00-2:30 PM (Tickets required)
Enjoy some Children’s floral arranging at the Huntington. Make sure to buy tickets ahead. This event is for ages 7 and up. Flower arranging tickets include entry into the museum, but the class is a separate fee if you are a member.

Sunday, September 8th: Kidspace
Pasadena, 4:00 PM (Museum tickets required)
Kidspace will be having a performance on the Frog by The Gypsy Dance Ensemble, included with the price of admission.

Monday, September 9th: On the Lot in Los Feliz
Los Feliz, 5:30-9:00 PM
Ease into the week by enjoying warm evenings and a food from one of the many food truck vendors at OMGC Parish.

Tuesday, September 10th: Bob Baker’s Marionette Theater, Pasadena
Pasadena, 4:30-5:30 PM
Each week there is a different show and the puppets will hang out after the performance for photo opps. 

Wednesday, September 11th: The Americana
Glendale, 11:00-11:45 AM
Head to the Americana for family yoga on the lawn. It’s recommended for ages 3-6 but I took my 2.5 year old and he was still way into it. 

Thursdays, September 12th: Once Upon a Time Bookstore 
Montrose, 11:00 AM
Head to Once Upon a Time Bookstore for Story time. If you’re lucky, you may even get to say hi to the store’s kitty.

Fridays, September 13th: Silverlake Yoga Studio
Silver Lake, 10:45-12:00 PM
Check out baby and me yoga at Silverlake yoga studio. This class is recommended for children under 14 months and their parents. 

Saturday, September 14th: Bowlero
Arcadia, 10:00-2:00 PM
Head to Bowlero for Kidfest. Take the kids out for some free bowling. That’s right, children get an hour of free bowling and free shoe rental. 

Saturday, September 14th: Los Angeles Zoo
Los Angeles, 8:30-10:00 AM (Tickets Required)
It’s Nature Club time at the Los Angeles Zoo. Activities vary but include art, story time, and sorting natural materials. Children are under two are free, otherwise it’s $5.00 a person. While this event happens the14th and 15th, on the 15th it’s sensory Sunday as a way to be inclusive to community members of all abilities. 

Saturday, September 14th: Little Mermaid at Streetfood Cinemas
Glendale, Doors at 5:30 PM, Movie starts at 8:00 PM
Streetfood cinemas is an outdoor movie screening. Enjoy this Disney classic and sing along to “Under the Sea,” enjoy some live music and delicious food beforehand. Did I mention that while adults need to buy tickets children under 5 are free? 

Sunday, September 15th: Kidspace
Pasadena 11:00-4:00 PM
It’s talk like a pirate day at Kidspace in Pasadena. Join the fun with pirate themed activities and Pirate band performance at 1:00pm.

Sunday, September 15th: Barnes and Noble, Americana
Glendale, 11:00 AM
Head to Barnes and Noble at the Americana for Baby story time. For children 0-24 months plus you get a free Starbuck’s tall iced or hot coffee. 

Monday, September 16th: Stroller Stride at the Americana
Glendale, 9:00-10:00 AM
If you have a child young enough to hang out in a stroller, put on that workout gear and go enjoy a stroller stride work out class at the Americana. 

Tuesday, September 17th: Descanso Gardens
La Cañada,  9:00-5:00 PM (Tickets Required)
Check out Descanso gardens for free Tuesdays. Don’t forget to reserve tickets here. 

Wednesday, September 18th: Los Feliz 3 Theater
Los Feliz, 10:30 AM
Catch a Mommy and me movie at the Los Feliz 3 theater. They play regular films and children under 4 are free. 

Thursdays, September 19th: The Eagle Rock Plaza
Eagle Rock, 10:30-11:30 AM
The Eagle Rock Plaza has kids club with music from Baila Baila. On the upper level near fitness 19.

Fridays, September 20th: Odd Market Night at the Autry
Los Angeles, 6:00-9:00 PM
There will be food trucks, art & local makers, kids attractions. It cost 5 dollars to get in but kids 12 and under are free. 

Saturday, September 21st: Rubber Ducky Derby at Kidspace
Sunday, September 22nd: Rubber Ducky Derby at Kidspace
Pasadena. 11:00-4:00 PM
Happening both Saturday and Sunday bring your children to enjoy the museum and have them decorate and race their ducks the Arroyo stream. Races run every half hour from 11:00 am- 4:00pm.

Monday, September 23rd: Academy Cinemas, Pasadena
Pasadena, 7:30 PM
Take the kids to see the Wizard of Oz on the big screen at Academy cinemas in Pasadena. Sing your heart out when Dorothy sings “Somewhere over the Rainbow” or get a little misty eyed as you hear her sing it, just me? What can I say it’s a beautiful song.

Wednesday, September 25th: Kid’s Storytime at Vroman’s
Pasadena, 10:00 AM
Head to Vroman’s books for kids story time with Mr. Steve. 

Thursdays, September 26th: South Pasadena Farmer’s Market
South Pasadena, 4:00-8:00 PM
Head to South Pasadena and enjoy the farmers market.

Fridays, September 27th: Final Fridays at Rosebowl Stadium
Pasadena, 4:00-9:00 PM (Tickets required)
Enjoy an evening of moon bounces, photo opps, tours of the stadium food and live music. 

Saturday, September 28th: Up at Streetfood Cinema
Glendale, Doors at 5:30 PM, Movie starts at 8:00 PM
Enjoy an outdoor screening of the movie “Up” with Streetfood cinema. There will be food trucks, a DJ and children under 5 are free.

Saturday, September 28th:  Sleepover at the LA Zoo
Los Angeles, Saturday 6:00 PM until Sunday 10:00 AM
If you have a child over the age of 5, you may want to splurge the $85 dollars a person and have a sleepover at the LA Zoo. You read that right, you get to go to bed with a beastly bedtime story and then wake up the next day to a continental breakfast. Tickets include a guided tour of the zoo and dinner of pizza and salad. 

Sunday, September 29th: Autry Museum
Los Angeles, 10:00-5:00 PM
It would have been Gene Autry’s 112th birthday and as a result, adult admission to the Autry is only $9.29, there will be film screenings and includes a complimentary slice of birthday cake. 

Sunday, September 29th: Wiggle and Walk at the Pasadena Humane Society
Pasadena, registration opens at 8:00 AM, dog walk starts at 9:00.AM
Sign your family up for Wiggle and Walk. There is a three mile loop and a one mile loop. It’s a family friendly and pet friendly walk fundraiser for the Pasadena Humane society and SPCA. Every participant receives a bandana for your dog. 

Monday, September 30th: Pacific Theaters at the Americana
Glendale, 11:00 AM
Head to Pacific Theaters in Glendale for a Monday morning mommy movie. You’ll want to call or check the calendar to see what is playing.
